Kids Who Read, Succeed
The Children's Reading Foundation of Knox County is sponsoring a reading program for students in grades K-3 this year. It encourages students to set a goal to read with a reading partner at home at least 20 minutes every day. Look for a pledge form and reading bracelet to come home with your children in kindergarten-third grade. Please fill out the form and return it to school . Your child's teacher will provide information on how to track the amount of time you read together with your child.
Life is busy, but reading aloud with a child for just 20 minutes a day:
Strengthens relationships
Encourages listening and language skills
Promotes attention and curiousity
Establishes a strong reading foundation
These skills are essential for success in school and in life!
Happy Reading,
Ms. Morris
